From the producers of hit series The Swarm, Concordia is a new series set in Sweden, starring Swedish rising star Nanna Blondell, Ruth Bradley and Hugo Becker.

Emmy award-winner and Game of Thrones producer Frank Doelger serves as Executive Producer and Showrunner

SkyShowtime today revealed that social-technological crime-thriller series Concordia will be streaming exclusively on SkyShowtime from 23 May, with two new episodes released every Thursday.

The announcement was made by SkyShowtime’s Chief Content Officer Kai Finke during a panel discussion at leading industry event MIPTV x Cannes Series Connection, where he shared details about the upcoming series.

Powered by AI surveillance, Sweden’s Concordia is the town of the future, built on surveillance and data collection – not for nefarious self-serving purposes, but for the greater good of society’s citizens, with the leadership’s goal to create a freer, fairer, and more humane society. By its 20th anniversary, Concordia is an indisputable success but when on the verge of expansion, twin catastrophes strike: the first ever murder and a hack of the town’s impenetrable AI - compromising the very foundation and possibility of expansion. A team race to solve both crimes and accomplish the expansion but, in doing so, uncover a shocking original sin that threatens to destroy everything its creators have achieved.

Concordia is a six-part Nordic noir inspired series starring Ruth Bradley (Ted Lasso), Nanna Blondell (Black Widow, House of the Dragon), Christiane Paul (Counterpart), Steven Sowah (For Jojo), Ahd Kamel (Collateral), Hugo Becker (Gossip Girl), Kento Nakajima (Love Like The Falling Petals), Joséphine Jobert (Death In Paradise), Karoline Eichhorn (Dark), Jonas Nay (Deutschland 83), Alba Gaïa Bellugi (The Swarm), Maeve Metelka (Unorthodox) and Mohamed Achour (Liberame), among others.

Set in Sweden, the multinational series is directed by Barbara Eder (The Swarm, Barbarians, Cop Stories) with Emmy© award winner Frank Doelger (The Swarm, Game of Thrones) as Executive Producer and Showrunner.

Co-created by Nicholas Racz (The Burial Society, The Real Thing) and Mike Walden (The Frankenstein Chronicles, U Want Me 2 Kill Him), Concordia is written by Nicholas Racz, Mike Walden and Isla van Tricht. Executive Producers alongside Frank Doelger are Ute Leonhardt, Rafferty Thwaites, Jan Wünschmann and Robert Franke. Producers are Tobias Gerginov, Elle Raspin, Jacob Glass, and Sergio Ercolessi.

Concordia is produced by Intaglio Films, a joint venture of ZDF Studios and Beta Film.
