Anne-Sophie Mutter records Mozart’s Violin Concerts for ZDF and Classica (Premiere)

Munich, 6th Dezember 2005. The star-violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter records in Salzburg the five violin concerts KV 207, KV 211, KV 216, KV 218, KV 219 and Sinfonia Concertante KV 364 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart for Unitel/Classica and ZDF. The world-renowned violinist plays with Camerata Salzburg and Yuri Bashmet (viola). Andy Sommer takes over the camera direction, Bernhard Fleischer’s Moving Images the production. The concerts will be broadcast in the Mozart year 2006 on ZDF, Arte, and on the classical music TV-channel Classica on Premiere. The DVD will be released at Deutsche Grammophon.

In the coming months Unitel will record also with Anne-Sophie Mutter Mozart’s piano trios and the 16 violin sonatas. 
Under the motto “music to watch? Unitel has been producing operas, concerts, and ballets in the highest artistic and technical quality since 1960s. From the very beginning the classic label has been cooperating with the greatest artists, including Herbert von Karajan, Carlos Kleiber, and Leonard Bernstein. During the recent months operas and concerts with Edita Gruberova, Anna Netrebko, Rolando Villazón, Albrecht Mayer, and Kent Nagano have been recorded. The repertoire of up to 1,000 Unitel produced titles can be watched on Classica, the classical music TV-channel on Premiere, and it will also be released on DVD.
