C21: Beta fills 1-2-3’s Six Empty Seats
CONTENT LONDON: German distributor Beta Film has extended its partnership with Russia's 1-2-3 Production by adding another of its drama series to its sales slate.
Six Empty Seats is from production duo Valeriy Fedorovich and Evgeniy Nikishov and is premiering this week as part of C21 digital event Content London On Demand.
The 8×60' drama is about a disparate group of people who avoid a lethal plane crash after missing their flight, with the first six episodes introducing the backstory of each survivor.
Written and directed by Pyotr Todorovskiy, the series stars Oksana Akinshina (The Bourne Supremacy), Alexander Robak (To the Lake) and Yuliya Khlynina (Duellist).
Leonid Godik, VP of international sales and acquisitions at Beta Film, said: "Six Empty Seats is an exciting and intriguing story, written in the best traditions of the European TV dramaturgy and Russian literature.
"The mixture of a crime story and philosophical analysis of human nature makes it unique and gives lots of opportunities also for international remakes. Its success at international TV festivals shows that it can also be interesting for international platforms and TV broadcasters."
Beta Film also collaborates with 1-2-3 Production on thriller series Dead Mountain – The Dyatlov Pass Incident, which premiered at Mipcom and aired on TNT and Premier One in Russia.
