“Babylon Berlin” with 1.75 million catch up-views, ongoing prime-time winner
Munich, 5 October 2018. The gritty crime series Babylon Berlin maintains its records: Episodes four to six of the multiple awarded production scored #1 on yesterday’s prime-time with an exceptional number of 1.75 million catch-up-views within the first three days. The show, set in Berlin’s Roaring Twenties, continuously won the night on public broadcaster ARD with 5.3 million viewers (18.2 %). Among the younger audience (14-49 years) the series doubled the average share of the channel, gaining 14 %. Babylon Berlin premiered on Sunday as the most watched series of the year on German television with 7.8 million viewers. Before, Babylon Berlin ran on Sky with the best ratings of non-English series ever, beaten only by the seventh season of Game of Thrones. The 16 hour-show (season 1&2) is produced by X Filme Creative Pool, ARD Degeto, Sky and Beta Film. Shooting for the third season will start in November in Berlin.
