New fans for the world-famous police dog: Slovakian “Rex” wins primetime on Markiza TV
Munich, 15 September 2017. The world’s most famous police dog Rex is extending his fan base in Eastern Europe: The Slovakian remake of Beta Film’s long-running crime show convinced as ongoing prime-time winner, gaining record ratings on two consecutive Thursday nights on Markiza TV Slovakia. The series thrilled up to 553.000 dog- and detective-lovers with excellent ratings also in the younger target group (12-54 years, 29.5 %). The Slovak Rex (13 hours) follows in the footsteps of the success of the Rex remake in neighbouring Poland, where the German shepherd Inspector Alex and his partner have been investigating for 117 episodes already.
Rex, the Cop’s Best Friend/Rex Special Unit is one of Beta Film’s most successful series with 203 episodes to date. The show, sold in over 100 territories worldwide, was translated into nine languages, including Chinese (Mandarin), Vietnamese and Hungarian, and is constantly on air. Currently, reruns are being broadcast in Germany (Sat1Gold), France (France 3), Czech Republic (PrimaTV), Hungary (MTV), Bulgaria (Diema) and Croatia (NovaTV), among many others.
