“Inspector Dupin” cracks 5 Million viewers in Germany
Munich, 13 March 2017. Investigating his fourth case in the scenic setting of Brittany, Inspector Dupin (movie cycle, 16 hours) has received spectacular ratings on Germany’s public broadcaster ARD. Inspector Dupin - Brittany's Pride topped the prime-time slot by reaching five million viewers with a market share of 15%. The cycle, which has improved its ratings each episode, even asserted itself against such local ratings hits as Mountain Medic. Inspector Dupin heads Beta’s current MIPTV-movie cycle slate, which includes the cross-border crime series Murder by the Lake (20 hours), set at Lake Constance, the crime series Kluftinger (six hours) and the female drama Rita and the Beast.
Based on the international best-selling novels by Jean-Luc Bannalec, the gritty crime drama is a smashing hit with audiences. Set in North-Western France with its rugged and majestic landscapes, a relocated Georges Dupin from Paris has to solve murders down by the sea. This time, a real and a fake Gauguin took Dupin back to the 19th century. Inspector Dupin is a filmpool fiction production for ARD Degeto. Beta Film handles the international rights.
