Countess in Uniform
In the Austro-Hungarian empire, it was preferable for the first child of a noble Tyrolean family to be a boy. Count Hardberg's was a girl however, and no one had the heart to tell him. Antonia is now almost a young lady. As the imperial alpine hunters come to Hardberg palace, the situation becomes prickly: Antonia has to become ‘Toni' - and a cadet - for the duration of the maneuvers. But the rumor that she is a countess spreads among the soldiers. And as Toni, who has been confined to his quarters, appears at the ball as his sister Antonia, lieutenant Pacher, who could not get along with Toni, promptly falls in love with the pretty countess.
