Fathers and Sons
Two German industrial dynasties, one Jewish and bankers, the other the founders of a chemical cartel. Over three generations, their plottings and plans, loves and betrayals help bring Germany to its greatest heights, then total destruction. At the beginning, the Deutz family is a thriving producer of chemicals, the Bernheim family their trusted friends and ban- ers. At the end, the Deutz family is standing on the dock at the war crime trials at Nuremberg, and the Bernheims, with one exception, have been de- stroyed. - The drama of family, industry and society in Europe in the first half of the twentieth century.
