Sarajewo - The End of an Era
The year is 1914. Despite political tensions wracking the Austro-Hungarian empire and numerous warnings about Serbian conspirators, the crown prince, archduke Franz Ferdinand, and his wife Sophie arrive to pay an official visit to the town of Sarajevo. Although the police have taken all security precautions possible, the perpetrators manage to throw a bomb into the archduke's car. The archduke's presence of mind saves his life. It is only after the reception at the city's town hall, as the archduke is on his way to pay a visit to his badly-wounded adjutant, that the crown prince and his wife, who stayed by his side although she knew what was in store for her, are cut down by the hail of bullets which set off World War I.
