The Beautiful Liar
What would high politics be without the participation of charming women? Fanny, a corset maker, disguises herself and forces her way into the magnificent palace where the Viennese congress has been convened. There she hopes to arouse martin's jealousy (martin is the secretary to prince Metternich). Accidentally she makes the acquaintance of czar Nicholaus, who takes her for a charming countess. Deeper and deeper fanny entangles herself in a web of lies until the Austrian secret service thinks she is a French agent. To get herself out of this predicament, she comes up with the story that napoleon is landing in France. She is actually raised to be a countess when her information proves to be true. Enraptured, martin marries his fanny.
