The Bible: JesusFilmed in the Moroccan desert in the summer of 1999, the 2-part miniseries "Jesus" was directed by Roger Young.
After the death of his father Joseph, Jesus goes off to follow his calling. After God calls him by his name at his baptism in the Jordan river, he resists the Devil's temptations in the desert.
The first disciples begin to gather about him. When he finds the temple court in Jerusalem full of merchants and moneychangers he throws them out. The people of Jerusalem receive him like a king, but Jesus knows that his own death is unavoidable.
When Judas betrays him, he is arrested and Pilate condemns him to death. He dies a long and painful death on the cross, but three days later his disciples find his grave empty. Jesus then appears to them and tells them to spread the gospel to all parts of the earth.
Starring Jeremy Sisto in the lead role, "Jesus" also features Armin Müller-Stahl as Joseph, Jacqueline Bisset as Mary and Gary Oldman as Pontius Pilate.
