The Chinese Man

A search for a killer that spans three centuries and three continents. Based on the internationally bestselling novel “The Man from Beijing” by Henning Mankell, one of the world's top selling authors.

The bestial murder of nearly all the inhabitants of a central Swedish village shocks the entire world. But one woman in particular is both appalled – and in mortal fear. Judge Brigitta Roslin, whose entire family was wiped out in the massacre. Convinced that she's next on the list, she begins to pursue her own investigations and uncovers a connection between one of her ancestors, Jan Andrén, and a Chinese man named San. Andrén had emigrated to the U.S. in the 19th century and was in charge of Chinese slaves building a railroad in Nevada. He brutally raped and killed San's wife, which won him the undying hatred of San and his entire family. Brigitta suspects that one of San's descendants is after her, and flies to Beijing, where she comes face to face with an unfamiliar culture, an unforgotten tragedy and an unavoidable destiny.
