Being a teenager is hard enough – now imagine being one locked up in juvenile detention. For many growing up in Naples, doing time is part of their “job”, as the city is still an organized crime stronghold. Yet in this juvenile detention center at the Mediterranean coast, two young men who never wanted to take this path – or couldn't even imagine themselves to – find themselves just there. Although Filippo and Carmine do not have much else in common, the two 17-year-olds become friends. Filippo, who comes from a well-off family who loves him, has the dream of becoming a musician. Carmine, who's from a Camorra family, had always been dreaming of becoming a famous hairdresser with his own salon instead of taking up the family business. Both of them have committed serious crimes, their dreams cut short as their freedom taken is away. Now both are facing their new reality. Will their unlikely friendship remain strong enough to oppose the attacks from Ciro, the young and up-and-coming boss of a well-known Camorra family, with its grip on the city being as strong on the outside as it is behind bars? What chances are there for young love, as Filippo falls for female inmate Naditza? Though the prison's director Paola and correctional officer Massimo still try hard to help these “flawed” kids, the detained boys and girls are often left to fend for themselves. What they all share is a beautiful view over the gulf of Naples, the seemingly endless sea promising a future in which their dreams may one day come true …
