In the eye of the law.When a top financial official is found hung from a bridge over the Danube, prosecutor Fida Emam is called on the case. Doubting this was a suicide, the police ask her open an inquiry. Sure enough, the victim was investigating a private bank suspected of money laundering. All the while, Fida's private life is in disarray, juggling her headstrong alcoholic mother and her stubborn teenage daughter Aline – nevertheless she is relentless in her work, as she wants to bring the culprits to justice. When she discovers that the far-right chairman of the bank might have laundered money for a radical Islamic group, Fida comes to the painful realization that Aline not only harbors sympathies for said group, but has also fallen for one of their disciples. As Fida is closing in on the unlikely partners in crime, she finds that she is at the center of their plot to destabilize Central Europe…
