WolfsburgNeorealism meets dark fantasy. A reflection of up-to-date social concerns: migration and xenophobia.
Germany, 1960: 20-year-old Rocco gets off a train packed with immigrants in search for work. Just like him, they all have left behind a poverty-stricken existence in Italy, which is still bearing the scars of World War II. Rocco feels stronger than ever, even though he was just attacked by a vicious beast in the woods a couple of days before he left Italy. Yet he is oblivious to the fact that the blood of the beast was cursed. In Wolfsburg, Rocco transforms; suddenly he turns into a werewolf! Wreaking havoc upon his new home, the deaths he leaves in his wake spread terror amongst the Germans, who immediately blame the Italians. While Rocco suffers the horrors of his condition, the world around him starts to take on a new form. His job becomes more bearable, and life will soon take on a different meaning. Women adore him, drawn to his wild charm. His brother, Vincenzo, exploits his murderous fury to ingratiate himself with the local boss and earn respect. And Rocco makes an extraordinary discovery. He might not be the only werewolf in Wolfsburg…
