Part adventure, part family comedy, part social satire, the series is the latest addition to Beta Film’s MIPCOM line-up. Consisting of more than 450 hours from around the globe, it is headed by the outstanding drama Mozart Mozart by the producer of Sisi, giving voice to the musical genius’ long overlooked sister. Multi-awarded Canadian writer/actor/director Florence Longpré presents her new dramedy Empathy, which uniquely explores patients and medical staff of a secure psychiatric institute. Highlights also include UK’s Channel 4 hit The Couple Next Door - Deadly Attraction and the Greek drama series The Great Chimera.

The series brings another iconic female figure for a global audience to the market: When Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart falls apart, his equally gifted sister, Maria Anna, poses as the legendary musician to save their family from ruin and herself from an arranged marriage. Beta Film and Bavaria Media are handling world sales.

For those looking for some glitz, glam, and romance, Velvet New York - The New Empire (96x1h, Telemundo Studios) brings the stunning world of the Spanish fashion house to present-day New York City. Telemundo’s #1 Spanish-language program performed substantially above the channel's average, with 1.29 million viewers. The original Velvet (Bambú Producciones) was sold by Beta to more than 140 territories as format and ready-made and spawned the spin-off The Velvet Collection (Movistar/Bambú Producciones/Beta Film).

Eagle Eye’s sexy suburban thriller The Couple Next Door - Deadly Attraction (6x1h) stars Sam Palladio (Nashville), Annabel Scholey (Being Human), Aggy Adams (The Witcher), and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Heroes). The predecessor of the crime drama, The Couple Next Door, averaged 2.6 million viewers across its six-part run, making it the #1 show on Channel 4 and adding more than 1 million streams in the first seven days.  

The Great Chimera (6x1h, Foss Productions) is a tragic journey of love, yearning, and death based on the iconic novel by M. Karagatsis, published in 1953. The cast is led by Italy’s rising star Fotinì Peluso (Netflix’s Everything Calls for Salvation, Greek Salad), who plays the restless, young Italian beauty Marina. Fascinated by classical Greek culture, she falls in love with the Greek ship owner Yannis, portrayed by Andreas Konstantinou (Milky Way, Cloudy Sunday), and quickly joins him to start a new life on the idyllic island of Syros. Although she leaves her past behind, she cannot escape her inner strife, which grows stronger with time.
