Makari – Season 4 confirms its ongoing success on RAI 1
The fourth season of Makari has returned on RAI 1 as a prime-time winner, reaching up to 20% market share and drawing over 3 million viewers. Running against major competitors including Formula 1 and NCIS, the series once again dominated its slot, confirming its ongoing success as one of Italy’s most popular dramas.
Praised as “The other ‘Montalbano’” by Italian daily Corriere della Sera, Makari combines mystery, comedy, and melodrama into a hit series based on the bestselling novels by Gaetano Savatteri. The New York Times described it as “a sun-dappled Italian mystery,” celebrating its mix of Sicilian charm and emotional depth.
Set against the backdrop of western Sicily, Makari follows journalist-turned-detective Saverio Lamanna as he solves local crimes with the help of his friend Piccionello and partner Suleima.
The show is produced by Palomar in collaboration with RAI Fiction.
