Munich, 11 November 2025. Artificial intelligence is one of the key strategic issues for the film industry. The question of how to approach this challenge might be crucial to its future financial and creative success. Beta Film is teaming up with Hannes Jakobsen, Dominik Böhm, and Lars Stark to found the new Berlin-based AI start-up Chapter41 with the goals of optimizing workflows, consulting, and content production.

Chapter41 is an AI hub with three central pillars: Development of tools and custom workflows for the use of generative AI in creative processes; consulting and training for companies, creative professionals, and broadcasters on the application of AI tools and the introduction of AI-supported processes; as well as the production of AI-generated moving images, e.g., historical reenactments, special effects, and animation.

Within Chapter41, AI tools are not created in a vacuum, but rather always in connection with specific productions, be it from DRIVE beta or together with the production companies belonging to Beta Group. To achieve this, Chapter41 relies on a lean, flexible structure in order to keep pace with the momentum of AI development”.

About the founders:

Hannes Jakobsen is producer and founder of DRIVE beta GmbH, a digital studio based in Berlin that specializes in the production and distribution of digital on-demand moving images. In recent years, he has also been intensively involved with the topic of AI. He has addressed AI in many productions and has also used it in all phases of production. At the German Producer Alliance, he heads the AG KI and is a member of the executive board with a special focus on AI.

 

After many years as the founder and creative director of a social media agency, Lars Stark has worked as a freelancer for a variety of clients in recent years. He has immersed himself in the field of generative AI and, among other things, developed AI workflows, and generated content for DRIVE beta projects. As Chief Creative Officer, he will define the creative direction of Chapter41 and serve as the central point of contact for partners and creatives.

 

Dominik Böhm is creative technologist and, together with Hannes Jakobsen, was responsible for AI at DRIVE beta. With his experience in camera work, post-production, and software development, he combines technological expertise with creative thinking. As Chief Technology Officer he designs the technical architecture at Chapter41, develops scalable systems and internal tools, and ensures the integration of state-of-the-art AI technologies into production and creative processes.

 

KI-Offensive: Beta Film und Team um Hannes Jakobsen gründen Startup „Chapter41“

München, 11. November 2025. Künstliche Intelligenz ist eines der zentralen strategischen Themen für die Bewegtbildindustrie. Die Frage, wie sich die Produktionsfirmen dieser Herausforderung stellen, wird mitentscheidend sein für ihren zukünftigen finanziellen und kreativen Erfolg. Beta Film gründet gemeinsam mit Hannes Jakobsen, Dominik Böhm und Lars Stark das neue Berliner KI-Startup Chapter41 mit dem Ziel, Produktionsprozesse zu optimieren, zu beraten und Inhalte zu produzieren.

Chapter41 wird ein KI-Hub mit drei zentralen Säulen: Entwicklung von Tools und maßgeschneiderten Prozessen für den Einsatz generativer KI; Beratung und Schulung von Unternehmen, Kreativen und Sendern bei der Anwendung von KI-Tools und der Einführung von KI-gestützten Prozessen; sowie die Produktion von KI-generiertem Bewegtbild, z.B. historische Nachstellungen (Reenactments), Spezialeffekte und Animation.

Über die Gründer:

Hannes Jakobsen ist Produzent und Gründer der DRIVE beta Gmbh, einem digitalen Studio aus Berlin, das sich auf die Produktion und Distribution von digitalem on-demand Bewegtbild spezialisiert hat. Hannes Jakobsen setzte er sich in den letzten Jahren intensiv mit dem Thema generativer KI auseinander. So hat er in vielen Produktionen KI sowohl thematisiert als auch in allen Phasen der Herstellung eingesetzt. Bei der Produktionsallianz leitet er die Arbeitsgemeinschaft KI und ist Mitglied des Gesamtvorstands mit besonderem Fokus auf KI.

Lars Stark arbeitete nach vielen Jahren als Gründer und Kreativ-Geschäftsführer einer Social Media Agentur zuletzt als Freier Mitarbeiter für eine Vielzahl Kunden. Mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf Generative KI entwickelte er unter anderem KI-Workflows für DRIVE beta-Projekte und generierte Inhalte. Er wird als Chief Creative Officer die kreative Linie der Chapter41 definieren und zentraler Ansprechpartner für Partner und Kreative sein.

Dominik Böhm verantwortete gemeinsam mit Hannes Jakobsen bei DRIVE beta als Creative Technologist das Thema KI. Mit seiner Erfahrung in den Bereichen Kameraarbeit, Postproduktion und Softwareentwicklung vereint er technologische Kompetenz mit gestalterischem Denken. Als Chief Technology Officer wird er die technische Architektur von Chapter41 gestalten, skalierbare Systeme und interne Tools entwickeln und für die Integration modernster KI-Technologien in Produktions- und Kreativprozessen sorgen.
