Munich, 2 April 2026. Beta Film and Bavaria Media have closed several deals with international key players on Mozart Mozart, the fresh and daring drama about the Mozart siblings. Telling the story of a relationship shaped by love, rivalry, and rebellion, the period drama was sold around the world: in Latin America to AMC Networks, as well as Australia (SBS),  Armenia (1TV Armenia), and in Europe to Portugal (RTP), Austria (Canal+), and Latvia (Latvian TV and Tet+).

From the producers of the international hit series Sisi, Mozart Mozart is a tale of ambition and deception giving voice to Mozart’s overlooked sister Maria Anna Mozart. The series spotlights the story of their complex sibling bond, full of love, rivalry, and rebellion.
Bursting with opulence, modern beats and unforgettable images, the six-hour drama stars Havana Joy (Love Sucks) as Maria Anna and Eren M. Güvercin (Skam Germany – Druck) as Wolfgang Amadeus.

Everybody knows the musical genius Mozart – but his sister, Maria Anna, has long been overshadowed by Wolfgang Amadeus. He is the one and only “wunderkind,” a superstar with a boatload of issues, but Maria Anna is just as talented as her brother. When he is fired from a position in Salzburg, she sees a chance to escape the prospect of an arranged marriage by helping him secure a position at the court of Emperor Joseph II in Vienna. But Amadeus’ erratic behavior jeopardizes their plan. So, she slips into the role of her brother, performing for the Emperor disguised as Amadeus – captivating the entire court and drawing the envy of Mozart’s greatest rival, Antonio Salieri. But her bold stunt quickly gets out of control. When Maria Anna convinces the Emperor to commission the first German-language opera, she must protect her charade, juggle her brother’s unpredictability, and keep her secret from the love of her life – who happens to be none other than Antonio Salieri.

Andreas Gutzeit (Sisi, Dignity) serves as executive producer, showrunner, and head-author. Together with Swantje Oppermann (Dignity), he wrote the scripts for the series. Clara Zoë My-Linh von Arnim (Druck, The Zweiflers) serves as director, Simon Dat Vu as director of photography, Jessica De Rooij (Sisi, Blood & Gold) is the composer.
