Beta bids farewell to German acting legend Mario Adorf
Munich, 9. April 2026. German veteran actor Mario Adorf, internationally revered for his many iconic Hollywood villain roles, has passed away at the age of 95 in Paris. Beloved for his impressive screen presence, his acting career spanned almost 70 years and more than 200 film and television credits. Ranging from westerns under the direction of such legends as Sergio Corbucci and Sam Peckinpah, German auteur cinema with Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Volker Schlöndorff, to classic Hollywood cinema by Billy Wilder, not many actors can match Adorf’s massive portfolio. Many of his films are still considered highly influential, such as The Devil Strikes at Night, and Rosemary, both of which are handled by Beta. Mario Adorf passed away after a short illness on April 8.
