‘The Beach’ is Heating Up Italy
Following its breakout success in Greece, The Beach is now making waves in Italy. The series launched highly successfully on RAI 2 and quickly emerged as one of the standout titles on RaiPlay, securing top visibility across the platform and ranking #1 among international series on RaiPlay and #3 in RaiPlay’s overall Top 10.
Produced by Foss Productions in co-production with ERT, The Beach reshaped the Greek TV landscape, becoming one of the biggest drama successes ever. Set in famous Matala, Crete, in 1969, the series captivated audiences with its unique blend of romance, mystery, and the free-spirited world of the hippie movement. The drama became one of Greece’s most-talked-about shows throughout its original run, a major streaming hit on ERTFLIX, and grew into one of the country’s most successful recent television exports.
The 144-episode telenovela was highly anticipated by Italian media, earning a top spot on RAI’s main news service ahead of broadcast.
