Munich, 16 July 2026. Memories that stick: Beta Film has acquired the international distribution rights to the drama The Panini Family - Album of Dreams (6x1h), the remarkable true story of the family behind the world-famous Panini sticker empire. From humble beginnings in war-torn Italy to the creation of football's most iconic World Cup sticker albums, the series chronicles how the Panini family built a global phenomenon that has captivated generations.

 

Produced by Indigo Film, the acclaimed production house behind international hits such as The Bad Guy and the Oscar®️-winning The Great Beauty, in collaboration with Rai Fiction, The Panini Family - Album of Dreams is directed by Letizia Lamartire (The Law According to Lidia Poët).

 

The epic drama spans three decades, starting in Italy in 1940. With little money in their pockets and great hopes in their hearts, the Panini family move to the city of Modena with their eight children. Holding them together is their courageous mother, Olga, who keeps them looking ahead, even when their future is uncertain. During the war, Olga takes a leap of faith and buys a small newsstand that becomes their window onto the world. There, the Paninis decide to risk everything and invest in something humble yet democratic: collectible stickers. After failures and sacrifices, but always standing together, they transform a simple idea into a miracle that crosses national borders. With the 1970 World Cup, their iconic stickers and albums become an unstoppable worldwide phenomenon, capturing the imagination of millions.

 

The series stars Serena Rossi (Diabolik, Mina Settembre), who plays Olga Panini, the family matriarch and emotional center of the story. The cast also includes Simone Liberati (Suburra), Benedetta Cimatti, Federico Cesari (Skam Italia, Everything Calls for Salvation), Luca di Sessa, and Samuele Teneggi, with Edoardo Pesce (The Brilliant Friend, Dogman), and with the participation of Barbora Bobulova (Portobello, In Treatment).
