The return of the world’s most famous police dog and his partner in Rex – Vienna Calling premiered to great success on Italy’s RAI 2, achieving #2 of the prime-time charts last evening. The series attracted more than 750,000 viewers and achieved a market share of 5.6%, outperforming the long-running US medical drama Chicago Med. In addition to these strong linear overnight ratings, the on-demand and catch-up viewing numbers is pushing the total audience beyond one million viewers.

The Italian launch follows the series’ strong performance in Austria and Germany, where Rex – Vienna Calling exceeded expectations across streaming and linear television. In Germany, the series reached almost 1.6 million viewers on SAT.1, while it drew up to 883,000 viewers on Austria’s ORF.
