World premiere of ‘Queen Silvia’ crowns Beta Film’s MIPCOM line-up
Beta Film has acquired worldwide distribution rights to the Italian crime series The Man from Milan (8x1h), directed by Simone Spada (Rocco Schiavone: Ice Cold Murders), and the Ukrainian first true-crime drama Silent Nava (8x1h), which marks its international premiere on Monday, October 12, 11.30 am at the Auditorium A.
In addition, the autumn/winter line-up features premium series from around the world, including TIFF series entry Blindspot Berlin (6x1h), The Panini Family - Album of Dreams (6x1h) and Portobello (6x1h) from Italy, Spain’s In Vitro - The Creation of Happiness (6x1h), in addition to returning premium series such as the fifth and final season of Babylon Berlin (48x1h), Hudson & Rex (134x1h), Bookish (12x1h), and El Immortal (20x1h).
Queen Silvia recounts one of Europe’s most iconic royal love stories: the romance between Sweden’s young Crown Prince Carl Gustaf and German Brazilian interpreter Silvia Sommerlath, who later became Queen of Sweden. Directed by Miguel Alexandre (Sisi, Gran Paradiso, Shades of Happiness), Queen Silvia stars Alicia von Rittberg (Charité, Becoming Elizabeth, Call My Agent! Berlin) and Edvin Endre (Vikungs, Eddie the Eagle, Hammarskjöld - Fight for Peace). The series is jointly produced by Pyjama Pictures (Germany) and Unlimited Stories (Sweden) for Prime Video in the DACH region and the Nordic countries, as well as for SAT.1 in Germany.
The Man from Milan (Cross Productions/RAI Fiction/Beta Film) follows a notorious criminal who joins a rehabilitation program as his ticket to freedom, only to discover that the hardest escape is from himself. Directed by Simone Spada (Rocco Schiavone: Ice Cold Murders), the series stars Alessandro Tedeschi (The Hummingbird), Vittoria Puccini (Kiss Me Again, 18 Presents) and Alberto Astorri (Rose Island).
Ukraine’s first true crime series Silent Nava offers a haunting portrait of a corrupt and complicit society that protects predators and betrays their victims. Produced by Sfera Film for KYIVSTAR TV, the series is directed by Dmytro Andriyanov (Tabun) and stars Oleksandr Rudynskyi (Two Sisters, The Agency), Anastasiia Pustovit (When the Trees Fall) and Andrii Saminin (Shepherd).
Fresh off its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, the true-crime drama Blindspot Berlin (NEUESUPER/ARD Degeto/RBB/NDR/hr) follows the investigation leading up to the 2016 Berlin Christmas market attack. The series examines how institutional failures, bureaucracy, and political blind spots prevented the authorities from stopping one of Germany’s deadliest terrorist attacks. Blindspot Berlin is directed by David Nawrath (Atlas, Your Honor), who co-created and co-wrote the series with David Marian.
The Panini Family - Album of Dreams (Indigo Film/RAI Fiction) is a period drama about the Italian family who dared to dream big, transforming a humble newsstand into a global phenomenon: the iconic Panini albums. Directed by Letizia Lamartire (The Law According to Lidia Poët), the series stars Serena Rossi (Diabolik, Mina Settembre), Simone Liberati (Suburra), Benedetta Cimatti (Mussolini: Son of the Century) and Federico Cesari (SKAM Italia, Everything Calls for Salvation).
Helmed by award-winning Italian filmmaker Marco Bellocchio (The Traitor, Kidnapped), Portobello (Our Films/Kavac Film/ARTE France/RAI Fiction/The Apartment Pictures) tells the stranger-than-fiction true story of a beloved Italian television host who was falsely accused of Mafia involvement in the 1980s. The series, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival last year, ranks among The New York Times’ best TV shows of 2026.
In Vitro - The Creation of Happiness (Moiré Films/Rodar y Rodar/Bullfrog Pictures/3Cat/HBO Max), directed by Marc Crehuet (Mirror Mirror), stars Bruna Cusí (Merlí, All the Light We Cannot See, Summer 1993) as Blanca, a brilliant biologist who takes a new job at a fertility clinic in search of a more meaningful career. Confronted with her partner’s desire to start a family, social expectations and her daily experiences at the clinic, she begins to question her own understanding of motherhood. The series will open Serielizados 2026.

The epic gangster saga El Immortal (Movistar Plus+/Telemundo Intl. Studios/DLO Producciones), inspired by true events and the life of the leader of Madrid’s Los Miami gang, heads towards its grand finale. Directed by David Ulloa (El Centro, Pudor, Raising Voices) and Rafa Montesinos (The Gardener, La caza. Monteperdido), the series has garnered significant international recognition since its premiere at Canneseries in 2022.
