Munich/Seoul, 22 September 2026.  Beta Film’s festival darling A Better Man (4x1h) was honored with three major awards at the prestigious Seoul International Drama Awards. The Norwegian drama series received the Grand Prize in the International Competition Category, Best Screenwriter for series creator Thomas Seeberg Torjussen and Best Actor for lead Anders Baasmo. The series addresses online harassment, gender roles, and cancel culture, taking audience on a surprising path from hatred and isolation to intimacy and reconciliation.  

With massive success at home and abroad, A Better Man has already received widespread critical acclaim and numerous honors. At last year’s Canneseries, it won Best Series as well as Best Performance for lead actor Anders Baasmo. It also triumphed at Serielizados Fest in Barcelona, winning the Best Series award as well as the Audience Award in November 2025. In May 2026, the series received all three Gullruten awards in the drama categories, taking home Best Drama Series, as well as Best Lead Actor for Anders Baasmo and Best Supporting Actor for Jonas Strand Gravli in the gender-neutral acting categories.  

Directed by Thomas Seeberg Torjussen (Norwegian Cozy, ZombieLars) and Gjyljeta Berisha (Sentimental Value), A Better Man follows Tom (Anders Baasmo, (Kon-Tiki), who runs his mother’s clothing store during the day. But by night, he has been trolling the internet for years. His favorite hate objects are feminists, particularly the famous stand-up comedian Live (Ingrid Unner Giæver). When his harassment causes Live to break down on stage, she shares his comment in public, prompting enraged hackers to expose Tom’s identity.
