In the Austrian alpine city of Innsbruck, the Gruber family has deep roots in the local police force: Grandfather Hannes is now retired, his daughter Fanny (Ursula Strauss) has worked her way up to Chief Inspector, and her own son Tobi (Noah L. Perktold) followed in their footsteps, becoming a cop himself. On his very first call without a senior officer present, Tobi responds to a domestic violence call that spirals out of control. Faced with a drunken, violent father, a terrified family, and an aggressive dog, the situation escalates and a shot is fired, killing the dog and critically wounding the father. Now, the abused wife claims Tobi lost control and shot too quickly. But did he really? Fanny senses that there’s more to this family drama than meets the eye and begins investigating on her own – against explicit orders. Can she clear her son’s name without losing her career?
Alpine Justice is a co-production of ARD Degeto Film, ORF and filmpool fiction. Beta Film handles international sales.
