Beta Film’s Christmas/Holiday season programming gains massive international ratings

Beta Film stays in the world of monarchs with its cult classic Sissi Part 1-3 on Germany’s ARD during Christmas. Especially the younger audience went traditional, enjoying the nostalgia of Romy Schneider’s 1950’s. The extraordinary market share of up to 14.8 % is more than twice of the channel’s average for 14-49 years old.
Early January, the second season of Beta’s Line up Separation (3x90’) left the audience glued to the screen, winning primetime with up to 5.7 million viewers and an 18 % market share.
Christmas was also high season for Beta Film’s US slate in Italy. Hallmark’s Christmas movies December Bride and Magic Stocking among others found their fans with 11 % on RAI 1 and 8.2 % on RAI 2.
The Physician with Tom Payne, Ben Kingsley and Stellan Skarsgård scored good ratings in Germany and Italy during the Christmas holidays with 6 % or 1.5 million viewers on RAI 3 and a 10 % market share on ARD. Just recently, the third installment of the Sky Italia/Cattleya/Beta Film series Gomorrah broke all records on Sky Italy, making it the most watched series on the platform ever.
