Atlantic Crossing wins International Emmy for Best Mini-Series

Beta Film’s Atlantic Crossing has won the International Emmy® Award in the category "Best TV Movie / Mini-Series" in New York. Director Alexander Eik, lead actress Sofia Helin, and producer Silje Hopland Eik celebrated yesterday at the at the glamourous ceremony in New York.

Based on the true story of Norwegian Crown Princess Märtha, who fights to save her country, Atlantic Crossing offers a unique and never-before-seen perspective on the tragic events of World War II, starring two-time Emmy® nominee Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) and Sofia Helin (The Bridge).

In the United States, the series was sold by Beta to the American pubcaster PBS for their prestigious flagship programming PBS MASTERPIECEwhere it successfully premiered this year to great acclaim as the first Scandinavian drama series in the broadcaster's 50-year history. The series, produced by Cinenord in co-production with Beta Film for NRK, celebrated its world premiere at CANNESERIES in October 2020.
