Munich, 10 March 2022. Beta Film has boarded the mystery thriller series Snow (6 x1h) starring Brigitte Hobmeier (M – A City Hunts a Murderer). Shooting has just started for the female driven series, co-produced by ORF, BR, NDR and arte, in the Dolomites, with Catalina Molina (Tatort) and Esther Rauch (Vorstadtweiber) sharing director’s credits. Set in the times of climate crisis, Snow (WT) centers on a terrifying scenario: What if nature strikes back to heal wounds of the past.

The lack of snow threatens the winter resort of Rotten with disaster. When the melting glacier releases a corpse, old secrets and new desires come to light, and Lucia, the newly-arrived doctor, gets caught in a maelstrom of strange occurrences that cause a rift in her family. Little by little, Lucia unearths the village’s secret surrounding the corpse they discovered. She believes neither in fate nor in the supernatural, but when her daughter disappears, Lucia is forced to accept her mission: To save Alma, she must face the mystery of the mountains.

Alongside the two directors, Snow (WT) features strong female cast and crew with DOP Leah Striker, production design by Veronika Merlin, and casting by Eva Roth. Brigitte Hobmeier, as Lucia, is leading the cast, which also includes Marie Luise Stockinger (Maria Theresa), Maria Hofstaetter (Tatort), Robert Stadlober (The Boat), and Karl Fischer (Donna Leon), amongst others.

The screenplays are written by Kathrin Richter and Jürgen Schlagenhof, as well as Michaela Taschek, based on an idea by Michaela Taschek.
