Beta Film drops exclusive trailer to Ukrainian war drama series “In Her Car”

Beta Film is thrilled to present the first trailer for In Her Car, a Ukrainian drama series with a gripping narrative plunging viewers into the heart-wrenching depths of the ongoing crisis. Filmed in war-torn Ukraine, this tale unfolds through the eyes of those living through it.
In Her Car (10x half hour) is produced by Starlight Media and Gaumont in co-production with France Télévisions, ZDF (Germany) and Swiss public broadcaster SRF. Showrunner and creator is Eugen Tunick, who also directs alongside Arkadiy Nepytaliuk. It has been sold to Nordic’s public broadcasters SVT (Sweden), DR (Denmark), YLE (Finland), NRK TV (Norway), and RÚV (Iceland).
The story commences in Ukraine in February 2022, as the war erupts. Lydia (Anastasia Karpenko, How is Katia?) is a seasoned therapist. Besides practice, she maintains her social media accounts answering questions that concern her subscribers. Privately, her life is in disarray: She is trying to divorce her husband Dmytro who not only cheated on her but is making her attempt to start anew extra difficult by delaying the proceedings. On her way to achieve this, Lydia picks up a young woman with her car. What follows is an odyssey, that will change her and her passengers’ lives: Each person Lydia drives around not only has to deal with the harrowing struggles brought on by Russia’s aggression, but also very personal dramas, that intertwine with her own life. And while her daughter urges her to flee the country, Lydia has found a new purpose – bringing people to safety by means of her car. She not only risks her life, but slowly uncovers the dark doings of her husband: corruption, deceit, and the real reason behind her sister’s death…
