Huge U.S. fanbase for The Swarm on The CW
The standout production The Swarm continues to grow its international fanbase with a very successful run on the US-network THE CW. Building on a strong premiere on Sept 5, the eight-part thriller increased its viewership in the following weeks, averaging a seven-day catch-up-audience of almost 650.000 viewers per episode across linear TV and streaming.
The season average was on par with the channels average rating in the target audience (A18+) and reached 3 million unique viewers in the US within eight weeks on the network.
The Swarm previously achieved phenomenal ratings across Europe and was the prime-time winner in several territories.
Captivating a strong US-fanbase on THE CW, renowned for its signature series as Riverdale, The Flash, and Supernatural, marks a huge milestone for the European production, which are rarely able to cut through in the highly competitive US market.
Executive producers for the series are Frank Doelger (Game of Thrones), Eric Welbers, Oscar-nominated producer Marc Huffam (The Martian, Saving Private Ryan) and Ute Leonhardt (Killing Eve).
