Rumor has it, 'Rumors' has a new co-production partner and is shooting Season 2

German public broadcaster NDR has joined forces with Mothership Entertainment for the second season of Rumors, which is currently shooting in Norway. This collaboration comes on the heels of the show's debut season’s resounding success, which not only achieved high viewership ratings on NRK in Norway but also became the first Norwegian program to claim the top spot on Rai Play in Italy for several weeks. Besides Germany and Italy, the first season of Rumors, produced by Mothership Entertainment, has been successfully sold to Belgium, and negotiations are ongoing for several other territories.

The partnership was facilitated by Beta Film’s Head of Kids & Family Entertainment Claudia Schmitt. Beta Film handles the international distribution.

Sandra Le Blanc-Marissal, Deputy department head of Children & Youth Entertainment, NDR: "We are very excited to join Rumors as a co-production partner. The show will help to fill the widening gap between children's and adult programming. It not only lets us in on the challenges adolescents face, but sends strong messages of courage, honesty, friendship, and taking a stand. Rumors might be set on a remote island in Norway, but its characters and story resonate with kids everywhere in the world. We are excited and proud to be a part of this contemporary, relevant, high-impact program."

In season 2 of Rumors, which is being called SKAM for a younger target audience, the main characters find themselves in a new school year ushering them into high school. Amidst the fallout from the first season, the arrival of a new student injects a breath of fresh air. However, a distressing rumor looms over her, threatening new-found relationships and happiness.
