New cases await: Eagle Eye’s ‘Professor T’ greenlit by ITV and PBS Distribution for fourth season with Beta as international partner

Munich/London, 28 February 2024. The success story continues: Professor T has been greenlit for a fourth season bringing the total number of episodes available in the series to 24. The popular crime series has found tremendous succuss around the world. Attracting audiences over four million viewers on ITV to a successful debut on France 3, the highly acclaimed drama has been sold by Beta to almost 120 territories worldwide. Most recently, Telekom acquired rights in Germany, TV3 bought the series for Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova 1 for Moldovia, and BBC and TVP for Poland.  Seasons 1 and 2 were sold to NOVA in Greece and Cyprus.


In season 4, Ben Miller (Bridgerton, Death in Paradise), Frances de la Tour (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The History Boys), Juliet Stevenson (Truly, Madly, Deeply) and Barney White (Masters of The Air) reunite once more with Professor Tempest using his unique insight and analysis to help the police.

Hailed as a “perfect tonic with a capital T” (The Daily Mail), the show is set against the stunning backdrop of one of the world's most prestigious educational institutions, Cambridge University. Professor T Season 4 returns six months after the shocking finale of season 3, and the team must overcome their grief to tackle a dangerous crime wave.


This time, the gloves are well and truly off for Professor T (Ben Miller) in his lectures and a new musical pursuit, romance is very much alive for his mother Adelaide Tempest (Frances de la Tour), and the lines between professional and personal become blurred for therapist Helena Goldberg (Juliet Stevenson). Meanwhile, DI Maiya Goswami (Sunetra Sarker) takes charge of the police force with series favorite DS Dan Winters (Barney White) fiercely at her side.


Belgian directors Dries Vos (The Couple Next Door) and Kaat Beels (Hotel Beau Séjour) will direct the fourth season, with Jo McGrath and Walter Iuzzolino returning as executive producers. Professor T is produced by Eagle Eye for ITV and PBS Distribution.


Beta holds worldwide distribution rights on all seasons, while PBS Distribution holds the North American rights. The six-hour crime drama will launch in the US on PBS and will be available to stream on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel and branded PBS platforms, including PBS.org and the PBS App.


Professor T is being produced in association with Happy Duck Films and is supported by the Belgian Tax Shelter. The remake is based on he Flemish original from Skyline Entertainment NV.
