“Elsa Morante’s La Storia” wins prestigious Italy’s Golden Globe Nastri d’Argento

Rome/Munich, 10 May 2024. Beta’s Italian WWII drama Elsa Morante’s La Storia continues to dominate the Italian TV landscape, winning the prestigious Nastri d’Argento for “Series of the Year”. The Picomedia production previously celebrated a stellar premiere on Rai1 with 24% market share and was feted by the audience during the series’ World Premiere at the Rome International Film Festival. The National Union of Italian Film Journalists which institutionally represents reporters, essayists and journalists, presents the award.

Director Francesca Archibugi (Romanzo famigliare) co-wrote the screenplay with Francesco Piccolo (My Brilliant Friend), Giulia Calenda, and Ilaria Macchia (both Petra – Death Rites). Primetime Emmy®-nominated Luca Bigazzi (Paolo Sorrentino’s The Great Beauty, Il Divo) served as DOP, set design was done by Ludovica Ferrario (The Young Pope), Catheruine Buyse (The New Pope, Spiderman - Far from Home) and Valentina Monticelli were responsible for costume design.

Elsa Morante’s La Storia is produced by Picomedia (“The Sea Beyond”-producer Roberto Sessa), Thalie Images (Stéphane Moatti), in collaboration with Rai Fiction (Maria Pia Ammirati, Francesco Nardella, Francesca Tura, Daria Hensemberger), and in co-production with Beta (Koby Gal-Raday, Ferdinand Dohna).
