"I Accidentally Wrote a Book" becomes box-office hit in Hungary

Hungarian family feature I Accidentally Wrote a Book (95') has taken audiences by storm, becoming one of the top grossing movies for young audiences in the country’s history. With almost 150.000 admissions in Hungarian cinemas, the heartwarming story of young Nina, an aspiring writer who discovers her life is turning into a novel, has captivated viewers of all ages and garnered more visitors than “Paddinton in Peru” according to IGN Hungary. The film is directed by Nóra Lakos and produced by Juno11 Pictures.
Beyond its box office triumph, I Accidentally Wrote a Book, based on the internationally acclaimed novel by Annet Huizing, has also received international recognition, securing a spot at the prestigious Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2024, where it won the JUST FILM Children's Best Film Award. It also won the Eurimages Coproduction Award - 2021 at the Cinekid Film Festival and the Grand Prix at the Fifem Montreal Children's Film Festival, as well as the Best Film - Children's Jury Award and the Best Film - Teacher's Award at Publica Int' FF in Croatia.
