‘Operation Sabre’ & ‘I Am Scrooge’ nominated at 30th Shanghai TV Festival

The Shanghai TV Festival is celebrating its 30th anniversary as one of the most important international TV exchange platforms in Asia. The Magnolia Awards Ceremony will take place end of June.
One of last year’s Canneseries winners, Operation Sabre (8x1h), will celebrate its Asian premiere. The crime drama is based on the true events of the assassination of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Đinđić in 2003, and the ensuing investigation that marked a turning point in the history of the nation. The series is produced by This and That Productions in co-production with Agitprop for Radio Television of Serbia, and was sold in multiple territories, including SBS Australia, HBO for the CEE region, Filmin for Spain and Portugal, among others.
I Am Scrooge (6x1h) brings the “DuckTales Bandit” to the screen and is likewise based on true events. The limited series uncovers the crimes of Arno Funke, formerly known under his alias “Scrooge McDuck”, who has been at the center of one of the most spectacular extortion cases in German criminal history, raising media attention around the globe. The series is produced by Beta’s subsidiary Zeitsprung Pictures for RTL+ Germany, and was sold to the US, Canada, and Australia.
