“Atlantic Crossing” continues European rating success, captivates Swedish audience on SVT
The Sofia Helin/Kyle MacLachlan starrer Atlantic Crossing has continued its successful rollout throughout Europe, scoring record ratings on Swedish public broadcaster SVT yesterday night. Achieving more than double of the channels average the second week in a row, Atlantic Crossing reached market shares of up to 37.5% with over one million viewers. Based on true events, Atlantic Crossing (8 x one hour) circles around the untold story of the Norwegian Crown Princess Märtha becoming an influential figure in world politics during World War II, depicting the tragic events of the war from a unique and unseen perspective.
The limited series directed by Alexander Eik staring Sofia Helin (The Bridge) as Crown Princess Märtha and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) as U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, is produced by Cinenord in co-production with Beta Film for NRK.
Atlantic Crossing premiered with great success at Canneseries last fall, followed by its debut in Norway with an exceptional viewership of up to 43% (over one million viewers), beaten only by the American presidential elections. After a successful launch in Germany, Belgium and Finland, Atlantic Crossing will premiere in the US on April 4 on PBS MASTERPIECE and will be broadcast soon in Australia, France, Italy and numerous Eastern European countries, among others.
