Under the Dark Sun of AfricaA tormented love... An act of despair... A journey into the darkest heart of Africa...
It's love at first sight when Catherine, the wife of a safari operator in Tanzania, meets Gordon, a pilot and adventurer. She divorces her husband to marry Gordon, and the radiant couple, who are soon expecting their first child, set up a flower farm. Cracks begin to appear in their happiness when a bad harvest puts a financial strain on them. But the worst is yet to come: Gordon is involved in a traumatic accident that takes the lives of four children. Refusing to tell his wife about it and plagued by his conscience, Gordon begins to drink and beat Catherine. In a drunken stupor, he tries to rape her one night but suddenly backs off and grabs a pistol... A shot rings out, and Gordon is dead. Although everything points to suicide, Gordon's parents hire a private investigator to find evidence against Catherine. An eyewitness testifies against her and Catherine, charged with murder, is thrown into jail. Betrayed by her friends, branded as a murderess, she begs Jonathan Makuyo, an African lawyer, to defend her. As Catherine hovers between freedom and death, all her hopes are pinned on Jonathan...
